Jason Nuell is Marriott International’s brand expert within the Global Brand Management (GBM) organization and is the key interface between the GBM and the Center for Specialized Services (CSS) teams within Global Operations Services. He leads complex, organization-wide projects developing insights, strategies and innovations for the company’s lifestyle brands; AC by Marriott, Moxy and Renaissance.

Jason works with the leadership team to identify core brand proof points on new initiatives, while providing perspective on the long-range planning and brand strategies, as well as the target consumer needs, to help stakeholders focus on delivering a product that expresses the on-brand promise made to the consumer. He acts in a leadership role to both managed and franchised hotels to articulate clear brand expectations to the CSS team ensuring that the products and services presented to the consumer are “market ready” for deployment.

Jason has been a part of the Marriott International family for many years. His most recent position within the company began in 2014, The Vice President, Brand Operations Design & Development for Marriott Lifestyle brands he serves as the brand expert in the Global Brand Management organization to lead product and service design and sustainment efforts for their respective brand segment.

Prior to that, he served as the Vice President, Global Brand Advocate, supporting the Continental Lodging Services-- leading the local brand strategy as the initiative executor for brand advocates for Europe, Asia and the Americas. 

The Australian native served as the General Manager of the Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa, which he established and quickly positioned as the region’s premiere hotel. His efforts garnered him Marriott International’s Global General Manager of the Year Award in 2011. From 2008-2010, he was the Marriott International Area Director of Operations Asia, based in Hong Kong and tasked with brand management and operations for 31 hotels across seven countries and four Marriott brands.

 Earlier in his career, Jason was based in Mumbai, India, as the Director of Operations at the five-star JW Marriott resort overlooking the Arabian Sea. There he earned numerous hospitality awards. He began his journey with Marriott International in 2003, when he joined the Surfer’s Paradise Marriott Resort in Australia, first as Director of Food & Beverage and later as Director of Operations.
