Bradford Knutson

Olympia, WA

Bradford Knutson is currently a bartender at Dillinger’s Cocktails and Kitchen in Olympia, WA. He is also working parttime as a liquor representative for American Northwest Distributors, and proudly representing Geranium and Old English gins in the U.S. as the national brand ambassador. He has spent 12 years in the small community of Olympia Washington supporting and helping to create a culture of service and craft in the bartending community. He would say that he considers himself to be, first and foremost, a single father for his 15 year old son Cooper. "It was my desire to be a full time father for my son that originally lead me into the service industry and continues to be my inspiration for becoming the best I can be both as a professional behind the bar and as a father. My love for what I do comes from the joy of entertaining others and knowing what a quality beverage or liquor can do to make an evening special." This passion for entertaining led him to create an event to celebrate the service industry, the people who make it all happen, and that particular time in history that allow all to enjoy imbibing; Repeal Day. On Dec. 5, 2011, Olympia held, what will be considered, the first annual Repeal Prohibition Day Olympia celebration. Five years later the event has become the second largest grossing event for the local film society and has become a favorite local tradition, bringing together local restaurants, local bartenders, and local entertainers, to create an unprecedented evening of entertainment and classic cocktails inspired by the 1933 Repeal of Prohibition. "The comment I heard the most was 'Olympia never looked so good!' Hundreds of people came and almost all were in period costume."

Bradford has had drinks featured in a number of publications including; The San Francisco Chronicle, Liquor.com, The Tacoma News Tribune, The Olympian, The Weekly Volcano, the Annual Manual for Bartenders 2011 by Gary Regan, and Annual Manual for Bartenders 2012. He was twice selected to the Cocktail Apprentice team in New Orleans at Tales of the Cocktail and was the recipient of a $5000 scholarship to attend the B.A.R. 5 day course in New York City. With the recent addition of his position as a national brand ambassador for Geranium and Old English gins, Bradford plans to share his passion for service, craft, and quality products around the country.
