Solomon was born and raised in the Victoria, BC restaurant world. He started bar- tending before he should have at his family’s joint, Pagliacci’s; he has now been bartending for 17 years. Solomon operated his eponymous establishment for 18 months, where Victoria’s cocktail scene got its much needed start. Solomon has competed international as a bartender, including being a finalist in the 2011 G'Vine Connoisseur Program. He has spoken at cocktail events such as Tales of the Cocktail, Portland Cocktail Week and Art of the Cocktail, on subjects such as; Carbonated cocktails, Tea in cocktails, What Not to do when Opening a Bar, Beginners Guide to Gin and, Coming up, Ted Saucier's Bottoms Up. His proudest achievement is all the young local bartenders that have worked for him and gone on to their own greatness. Solomon is now “back home” at his family's restaurant Pagliacci’s in Victoria BC, which was opened in 1979.
