In a world where bartenders and bar-stars are becoming ambassadors and consultants at rocket speed, when would be a good time to broach the taboo subject of how much we should all get paid? The answer to that is NOW. This seminar will delve deep into the varied opinions of bartenders, ambassadors, and brand folk to determine whether we should be working for a fee, for cheap, or for free. Are there specific instances in which we should bite the bullet and donate our hard time and labor? Will working on the “freemium” model as it relates to social media allow a bartender/consultant the ability to “build their brand?” Is there an actual pay scale that we can follow to determine what our actual worth is to big brands when they hire us for gigs? What’s commonplace? What’s not? All of these questions - and more - will be answered by our esteemed panel of experts led by Moderator Jonathan Pogash: We will hear international and dissenting opinions on the subject from Justin Noel (Closing Time Cocktails, Espolon Tequila, Sweetwater Social), Diego Cabrera (Spain's Best Bartender and Consultant), and Pamela Wiznitzer (Seamstress NY, The Cocktail Guru Team)
