Tales of the Cocktail® New Orleans 2016

Come learn what’s behind that grainy “new craft spirit smell.” With some 700 craft distilleries now or soon producing across North America, it's increasingly hard to sort craft from crafty. This seminar will provide the tools — a set of simple questions — to help sort one from the other. Attendees will get an overview of the diversity of the craft distilling market, and learn what’s important to know about distillers in this emerging industry. Studies show that “authentic” and “local” are driving sales among a younger cohort, a group also hooked by a compelling narrative. But savvy consumers are demanding truth, not just a good marketing story. The panel will include craft distillers representing both small and large producers who will help bartenders and consumer navigate thorny terrain.
