Global Ambassador
Freddy May is Drambuie’s Global Ambassador and is responsible for developing the drinks strategy, driving trade engagement, and acting as the all-round face of the brand for consumer media. Freddy is the perfect hybrid of cocktail bartender and (self-proclaimed) ‘whisky geek’ – a rare blend in the drinks industry. And he’s more than a little excited at the prospect of introducing Drambuie to a new generation of cocktail drinkers, at a time when whisky cocktails are experiencing a real revival.

A bit more about Freddy: after perfecting his skills behind the bar for a decade, he moved away from the on-trade and into the world of events and hospitality as a trainer and consultant. Freddy was involved with the opening of several bars in Europe, as well as the launch of the Landmark Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong, before joining William Grant & Sons in 2009.
After working as a USA whisky ambassador for Glenfiddich and Hudson New York, in 2012 Freddy launched Monkey Shoulder whisky stateside and spent the next three years shaking cocktails on trampolines, DJ’ing in office stationary cupboards, leaping out of fridges and running Tough Mudder marathons – all in the name of the brand, of course.
Freddy’s genuine passion, encyclopaedic spirits knowledge and ability to educate industry professionals and consumers ranging from newcomers to true connoisseurs make him the perfect ambassador for Drambuie.
